Former NPFL top scorer Silas Nwankwo is set to leave Swedish side Mjällby AIF, with Finnish champions KuPS reportedly keen on securing the Nigerian striker’s services before the April 1 transfer deadline.
The 21 year old forward, who made headlines with a prolific stint at Nasarawa United before moving to Sweden in February 2022, is now the subject of a transfer bid from KuPS, according to Swedish outlet Smalandsposten. Nwankwo still has a contract with Mjällby running until December 2025, but the Finnish club are believed to be pushing hard to complete the deal in time.
His potential switch comes as KuPS look to bolster their attacking options ahead of their domestic league and European qualification campaigns.
